She-shed

She-shed - OCt 2025

A friend of mine loves to sew and quilt. She decided she wanted a larger space and needed to make room in their home. Hiring a contractor to add a room to their brick veneer home was going to be very expensive. So she bought a 14' x 24' shed from Cardinal buildings and contacted me about turning it into a conditioned space. She hired Jason O'Neil for the electrical. I did all other work. I built a closet, insulated the walls and ceilings, installed beadboard and 1x4 trim on the ceiling, installed and finished the drywall, installed a MrCool mini-split for heat and a/c, installed a french door for the closet, installed all interior trim work, installed the laminate flooring, and caulked and painted the trim work. To protect the spray foam insulation from critters, I installed a faux-stone vinyl siding around the perimeter of the shed. She didn't want posts to support the awning, so we came up with this simple but handsome solution.
